AUGUST 2017
w/ RIVERSIDE FINE ARTS ASSOCIATION
In partnership with Ben Adkins and the Riverside Fine Arts Association’s Project Listen, Riza and her husband renowned jazz trumpet player Marcus Printup presented her acclaimed educational program I Have a Song Inside My Heart™ to several local elementary schools in the Jacksonville area. Riza’s program showcases music as a form of self-expression, with historical examples drawn from spirituals to blues to jazz.
“Project Listen is pleased and proud to make such high-quality programming available for free to our local schools,” said executive director Layne Thompson-Payne. “For many students, this will be their first opportunity to see live music of any sort, and they are as curious about the instruments as they are the performers themselves.” - R F A A

December 2016
w/ WBGO’s KIDS JAZZ @ PLAY
We were thrilled to work with WBGO's Kids Jazz @ Play and My Very Own Library in bringing literacy and jazz to twelve elementary schools around the Newark area throughout the 2016-17 school year. A special thanks to Jeanette Davis-Loeb of Rising Oak whose generous contribution allowed us to have a trumpeter! Together, we are all helping children sing their song!
