Welcome to our General Music Jazz Curriculum for your PreK through 5 Classroom! Aligning with multiple National Standards, this curriculum is packed with content delivered through story telling, creative movement, introduction to basic music theory, arts and crafts and dramatization.
JAZZ EXPLORERS UNIT 1: ERAS OF JAZZ is a wonderful introduction to jazz. In historical chronological order, your students will begin their journey discovering their songs through the Blues (the root and cornerstone of jazz), then celebrate and create a second line as they explore the Big Four groove (the heartbeat of New Orleans music), to figuring out the “bounce” and true meaning of Swing and so much more.
You’ll be sure to open up a new world for your students as they discover and sing their unique and beautiful songs throughout these lesson plans!
