In partnership with Ben Adkins and the Riverside Fine Arts Association’s Project Listen, Riza and her husband renowned jazz trumpet player Marcus Printup presented her acclaimed educational program I Have a Song Inside My Heart© to several local elementary schools in the Jacksonville area. Riza’s program showcases music as a form of self-expression, with historical examples drawn from spirituals to blues to jazz.

“Project Listen is pleased and proud to make such high-quality programming available for free to our local schools,” said executive director Layne Thompson-Payne. “For many students, this will be their first opportunity to see live music of any sort, and they are as curious about the instruments as they are the performers themselves.” -RFAA

We were thrilled to work with WBGO's Kids Jazz @ Play and My Very Own Library in bringing literacy and jazz to twelve elementary schools around the Newark area throughout the 2016-17 school year. A special thanks to Jeanette Davis-Loeb of Rising Oak whose generous contribution allowed us to have a trumpeter! Together, we are all helping children sing their song!
